BMW of North America named Leigh Moynihan VP of marketing effective Aug. 1, the company announced in a July 3 press release.
She brings more than two decades of marketing, advertising and brand development experience, according to the release. Moynihan takes over for Marcus Casey who is moving to a new global leadership role with BMW Group.

Sebastian Mackensen, president and CEO, BMW of North America, in a statement said he welcomed Moynihan’s experience with brand building and data-driven insight.
Moynihan most recently was VP, head of marketing for Volvo Car USA, where she had worked since February 2018. At BMW of North America, she will oversee all marketing communications for the brand in the U.S., including advertising, retail marketing, consumer experience, brand partnerships, customer relationship management and media.
Moynihan will report directly to Mackensen, the company said.
BMW said Moynihan led Volvo’s return to its core values of safety and sustainability during her time at the automaker, resulting in award-winning campaigns and accolades.
Her experience includes marketing roles during the 2000 Summer Olympics and leadership positions with Procter & Gamble, Starwood Hotels and Mastercard.
