Audi of America sold 39,241 units in Q2, a 19% YoY drop. Sales of the A4 sedan nosedived 96% to 97 units compared to a year ago. Sales of the A7 hatchback soared 90% with 472 units sold.
The luxury Q7 SUV was another bright spot for Audi, with sales up 32% to 4,871 units.
BMW of North America sold 90,884 units in Q2, down 0.4% YoY. However, for the first half of the year, the automaker reports sales of 178,499 units, a 1.6% jump from a year ago.
“Our sales performance over the first half of the year is a clear indication that we have the right strategy, products, and dealer network to succeed,” Sebastian Mackensen, president and CEO, BMW of North America, said in a statement. “We’re confident in our business and look forward to building on this progress in the second half of the year, despite some challenges in the marketplace.”
Sales of the Mini Cooper jumped 29.1% YoY with 5,898 units sold in Q2. However, BMW’s EV sales fell 21.2% YoY to 11,094 units.
Ford Motor Co. sold 612,095 vehicles in Q2, a 14.2% YoY increase. Truck sales, including F-Series pickups, Ranger and Maverick lines, were up 15.1% compared to last year, with a combined total of 288,564 units.
Ford reported sales of 156,509 electrified vehicles in Q2, up 14.7% YoY. Hybrid vehicles represented 75% of Ford’s electrified vehicle sales, reaching 117,521 units in Q2.
Sales of the full-size Expedition improved 43.9% YoY with 31,298 units sold, the automaker said. It was the model’s best second quarter sales in 20 years.
General Motors maintained its sales momentum due to strong demand for SUVs and pickups during Q2, reporting sales 746,588 units, up 7% year-over-year.
The automaker reported first-half sales were up 12% year-over-year, outpacing its competition, which was estimated at 4% growth.
“The investments we have made in our crossovers, SUVs, and pickups — both gas and electric — along with great execution by our employees, suppliers and dealers, have made GM the engine of growth for the U.S. industry this year,” Duncan Aldred, GM senior VP and president of North America, said in a statement.
GM credited the sales gains o to the redesign of several of its SUVs, including the Chevrolet Trax, Traverse, and Equinox, GMC Acadia and Terrain, Buick Envista and Encore GX.The automaker said Chevrolet had its best first half sales since 2019.
Nissan Motor Corp. sold 221,441 vehicles in Q2, a 6.5% YoY drop.
The automaker reported sales of the Murano SUV jumped 115.9% YoY to 9,526 units. Meanwhile, Nissan sold 1,635 Z sports cars in Q2, a 108% YoY improvement.
Sales of the Pathfinder SUV increased 30.8% YoY, its best quarterly performance since its launch in 1986.
Rivian Automotive delivered 10,661 vehicles in Q2, down 22.7% from 13,790 units from a year ago.
The EV maker said its production was limited in Q2, as it was preparing its assembly plant in Normal, Illinois for production of the new R2 SUV in the first half of 2026.
Rivian, however, said its production and delivery results for the quarter were in line with its outlook guidance range. The company reaffirmed its 2025 delivery target of 40,000 to 46,000 vehicles.
Stellantis sold 309,976 vehicles in Q2, a 10% YoY drop.
Sales of its Ram 1500 pickup were up 17% in the quarter, while Jeep Wrangler sales jumped by23% from a year ago.
“We continue to see total sales growth for Jeep and Ram brands, with Ram fueled by sales of the Ram 1500,” Jeff Kommor, head of U.S. sales, said in a statement. “We plan to build on that success in the second half of the year. Jeep is also seeing momentum with a total sales increase of 1% year over year, the brand revealed the first images of the new Jeep Cherokee in the important mid-size SUV segment, arriving later this year, and the brand's Jeep Wrangler 4xe sales scored its best April monthly sales to date.”
Tesla delivered 384,122 vehicles in Q2, down 13.5% YoY.
Year-over year production totals were relatively the same as last year for the EV maker, reaching 410,244 units in Q2, versus the 410,831 units Tesla produced the same period a year earlier.
Toyota Motor North America sold 666,469 units in Q2, up 7.2% YoY.
Electrified vehicles represented nearly half of the automaker’s quarterly sales with 320,817 units sold. Toyota’s luxury Lexus division sold 95,923 vehicles in Q2, a YoY increase of 8.1%..
“Steady demand for our Toyota and Lexus brands resulted in strong sales throughout the second quarter,” Mark Templin, EVP and COO of Toyota Motor North America, said in a statement. “Our lineup of 32 electrified vehicles was a big part of that draw as they represented over 46% of our sales in June.”
Volkswagen of America sold 71,395 units in Q2, a 29% YoY drop.
VW’s bright spots included the ID. Buzz electric van, which debuted in Q4 2024 and sold 564 units. Sales of theGolf R performance hatchback, reached 873 units, a 12.1% YoY gain.
