Lucid Group shareholders elected transportation industry veteran Douglas Grimm to its board of directors effective June 5, the company announced in a press release.

Grimm, who began his career with Chrysler in the mid-1980s, is current CEO of V-to-X, a mobility sector consultancy. He also serves as board chairman for bus maker Blue Bird Corp. and Electrical Components International, a supplier of electrical distribution systems.
Lucid Chairman Turqi Alnowaiser welcomed Grimm’s extensive industry experience to the electric vehicle maker’s board.
“We are confident that his insights will be valuable, given his proven leadership within the automotive and manufacturing sectors,” Alnowaiser said in the release.
Grimm’s automotive and manufacturing leadership experience spans more than four decades, per the release. From 2015 to 2017 he was president and COO at Metaldyne Performance Group, a $3 billion automotive metals supplier with 60 manufacturing plants in 13 countries and 12,000 employees. Grimm also spent time at Dana Inc., where he held several executive positions, including VP of global strategic sourcing.
Additionally, Grimm is a current board member with automotive lighting supplier Lumileds and Pangea Corp., an entertainment development and creative services company.
Grimm’s appointment follows a transition in Lucid’s C-suite, which included the departure of co-founder and CEO Peter Rawlinson, the appointment of a permanent CFO as well as the promotion of Emad Dlala to SVP of powertrain.
