Stellantis appointed Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis to lead its American brands, as well as its North American marketing and retail strategy, the company announced July 2.
In the newly created role, Kuniskis will continue leading Ram and report directly to Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa. Kuniskis’ appointment follows the June 23 announcement of a new executive leadership team to guide the automaker’s turnaround.
Filosa in a statement said Kuniskis is proven at building brands.
“Connecting with our customers, delivering the products and experiences they want, is critical to reaching our full potential,” he said. “We will leverage his energy, his strategic mindset and his competitive spirit to supercharge all our brand activities.”
Kuniskis will also oversee the relaunch of the Street and Racing Technology (SRT) performance division, the former unit of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles that was absorbed into Stellantis following the merger of PSA Group and FCA in 2021.
Stellantis said the move marks “a step in unifying high-performance engineering across Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram under a single, dedicated identity.” The automaker said it is turning to the SRT division to “deliver vehicles that push the boundaries of power, aerodynamics, handling and technology, on both the street and the track, ensuring enthusiasts get the power, precision and passion they expect.”
“SRT is another box we needed to check as we head into a product launch cadence enabling more performance than we’ve ever seen before,” Kuniskis said in a statement.
Stellantis said the SRT performance division will oversee Direct Connection and North American motorsports initiatives under Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, including participation in the NHRA and Ram’s recently announced plans to return to the NASCAR Truck Series in 2026.
Kuniskis was the former head of the Ram brand, but Stellantis announced his retirement in May 2024 after nearly 32 years with the automaker. However, he rejoined the company seven months later in December 2024 in his former role as Ram CEO.
