Subaru of America named Yoichi Hori its chairman and chief executive officer, the company announced in a May 19 press release. He will oversee Subaru’s U.S. business operations.

Hori’s appointment is part of Subaru’s strategic organizational and management changes as Tadashi “Tady” Yoshida, who had previously served in the role, was promoted to senior managing executive officer with Subaru Corp. of Japan (SBR), the automaker said in the release. Yoshida will maintain strong ties with the American market, leading the automaker’s new global sales and marketing strategy office.
According to the release, Hori most recently was general manager of the CTO strategy office for SBR, where he focused on future electrification strategy. Since joining the automaker as an engineer in 1996, Hori has held numerous roles in the U.S. and Japan, including product planning and corporate planning.
Hori’s appointment was one of two announced for the automaker’s U.S. operations. The company also named Brian Moscatelli as VP of field and distributor operations within its sales department.
Moscatelli will lead several teams for Subaru of America: national field operations, training, added security, certified pre-owned and fleet. He succeeds Aaron Wisel, who was promoted to a newly created position, EVP and chief strategy officer with Subaru Canada.
Moscatelli has been with Subaru since 1999. He has worked around the U.S. in various management positions, including sales, marketing, retailer development, field operations and zone director roles.
Both Hori’s and Moscatelli’s appointments were effective April 1, per the release.
